Stonehenge and Bath!!!

Sunday morning, Kate and I got on a large blue tour bus and rode out to the country side to Stonehenge and then to Bath. It was the perfect way to spend my Sunday, I think.

We had an hour at Stonehenge and as cool as they are, the radios they gave us to listen about their history were extremely long winded. We found other ways to entertain ourselves, haha, like by jumping in front of history! I learned that I am not a very graceful jumper, nore can I jump very high. Kate on the other hand was quite good at jumping, so I was better at capturing it. Here she is flying with the birds... at Stonehenge. It is still a little hard to believe that I was actually there!
Kate and I walking along the river at Bath. We didn't go into the historical part and tours, instead we explored to town on our own, taking in it's peacefulness and beauty.
Shot of Bath from a bridge. It didn't rain on us all day! We had about three and a half hours to spend poking around the town, and two minutes after we got back on the tour bus to ride home, it started raining. What great timing!

Munich!

The Alps on our flight in
Whatching the huge Coo coo clock

Kate and I at Monte and Margaret's flat having fancy desserts from Dalmayer's!
We went to the top of a church. There was very little room up there and it was a looooong way down!
Kate and I acting like true tourists at the Haufbrauhaus with our bier and bretzel.

Hampton Court Palace

For one of our London as Visual Text classes, we went to the Hampton Court Palace. A picture from inside the kitchen.
Outside in one of the Gardens.
One facade and another garden. This palace was huge. It also has the oldest maze in London. We made it to the center and out again.
Sitting by the fountain eating our baguttes with borsin cheese spread and various meats. One of the best place I've ever had a pic-nic!
Another path way at the palace. I think I liked the outside more then the palace itself!

Dinners and Parks

Kate and her friend Melissa came over for dinner.
Allie and I at this really cute French resturant that is just on one of the side streets by our flat.
Carolyn, Katie, Katie's friend Bri came to visit (she's currently staying in Cork), myself, and Allie at the French resturant. It was a three course meal for under 15 pounds including a drink. Us with out tarimissu and chocolate mouse!
Green grass and blue sky for our walk in a huge park up north.
This is where we had our pic-nic lunch. It felt like it was straight out of a movie with the rolling green hills, children playing, and a pond with swans in it at the bottom.

Pictures around London

Bourough Market is filled with amazing food!
Me, Carolyn and Katie at Bourough Market eating a lamb kabob wrap... I could go for another one of those right now.
Carolyn, myself, Katie, and Allie at the Trubadour. It is this 1950's cafe during the day and at night the have live bands playing at the bar down stairs. It is very small and right down the street from where we are staying.
A small jazz concert we went to.

Quick Update

My travels have continued to exceed my expectations! The other weekend, my friends and I took the tube north to a big park and walked around it for awhile. It was nice to get out of the city. The sky has been blue and the grass has been green, so even if it were to rain for the rest of my stay, I will never have the impression that london is a gray, cold, or rainy city.

Last weekend, Kate and I flew to Munich to stay with Monte and Margaret. It was a wonderful weekend! We ate a lot of delicious German food, traveled around a lot, and learned the power of sign language. We saw a bunch of churches, ran errands, and of course, had a beer and a bretel at the Hafbrauhaus. I am really looking forward to visiting them again at the end of my trip.

In a couple weekends Kate and I are going to Paris to visit Mailys.

Sorry this is so short, I think I am going to continue my blog through pictures...
